The Nook

An existing garage built in the 1940’s was lovingly converted into a small home for the client’s mother to live in. Materials were saved and reused as much as possible, including the exterior siding. The exterior walls were enlarged, air sealed, and insulated to allow a comfortable environment. Cork floors warm the feet, and natural lime plasters applied in the old “lath and plaster” method warm the living room. All new paints, stains, and sealants were bio-based and without plastic.
