We have a passion to create living, interactive designs that are beautiful, functional, and positive. We specialize in designing small living spaces, permaculture landscapes, remodels of any size, and custom, hand-made pieces.
As a design+build company, we have the benefit of collaborating with all stakeholders throughout the project, from design through construction. We strive to work within a dynamic environment that encourages all parties to establish a shared vision based on common values.
In our experience, projects with clear goals and intentions set from the outset are the most likely to maintain positive direction and focus throughout. As we meet with clients at the beginning of the design process, we encourage honest communication to learn your needs, wants, priorities, budget, current-and-potential material resources, expectations, and desired level of involvement with the project. All of these will be considered during the designing process
Building Design
The design process establishes intentional values and goals for your project, and works with you to create a healthy, beautiful space that meets your needs within your budget. We can simply provide 3D renderings to help you visualize and dream, or complete permit drawings for the building process.
Dreamers Package
This option allows exploration of ideas. The focus is not placed on materials or color at this point, but presents options for layouts, orientation, and general interior and exterior appearance.

The next step from dreaming, we take one option and focus in a bit, finalizing the layout and beginning to consider materials and construction details.

Trailblazer Package
If you choose to build your own home, or are building outside of our area, you will need complete technical drawings for a building permit, as well as detail drawings to communicate to the build team. Note: some designs or jurisdictions may require approval from an engineer.

Material specifications
Our design considerations include:
Site observation to note the natural forces, climate and micro climates present on site.
Natural day-lighting, passive solar and passive cooling techniques, biophilic design principles, available and potential resources on-site, space efficiency, and the style, needs and budget of the client.
Material considerations:
Toxicity, embodied carbon, no Red List products, ability to be recycled at end of life, durability, and maintenance requirements.
Permaculture Design
With a focus on permaculture principals, we work with you to design functional, beautiful spaces that provide for you and the earth.
The principles of permaculture aim to help you to live more seamlessly with the natural world around you by working with, rather than against nature. Permaculture helps to enhance the condition of both the land and it’s practitioners. We approach design with an eye toward integrating systems and stacking functions. Whether your goal is to become self-sufficient, or just to help improve the land and ecosystems around you, permaculture design can be applied.
