The Nest

This project converted a storage room attached to a garage into a private guest suite and rental. At just under 200 square feet, the guest studio has a full bath and small kitchenette. The old wood siding was repurposed for the ceiling inside; newly milled, local cedar was used for the new siding; and the original wood floors were cleaned, sanded and waxed for a cozy, warm feeling. Ducks are kept by the family, which inspired the name.
